The joys of busting Mitt
The Massachusetts parole saga is turning out to be another one of those cases where Mitt Romney will need to explain Republican primary hard liners why he used to be reasonable.
It appears our favorite flip-flopper didn't sign on to the "joy of busting rocks" theory offered by the decidedly more liberal Republican Bill Weld. The Globe reports a Romney-dominated parole board paroled lifers at the same rate as Deval Patrick.
And we all know how popular Big Red was with conservative Republicans.
With the GOP seemingly intent on falling off the right edge in 2012, Romney did not need one more thing to explain. Falling in line on crime statistics with Barack Obama's favorite governor is not going to be an easy one to explain.
But it will sure be fun to watch.

About that parole board thing, I was fascinated to read that they actually listen to as many as 10,000 cases a year. They all got fired for one mistake- out of 10,000. And pretty much everyone supported their removal. Contrast that with everyone who considered that Governor's Council member a moron for opposing Fernande Duffly's nomination based on a case she screwed up, where an innocent person went to jail for arson based on a coerced confession. As the old adage goes, better 10 innocent people go to jail than one potential killer be set free. Something like that.
Daniel - they resigned. Nobody fired them.
Liberal - the more you slam Mitt here in MA, the more it helps his national campaign, which after all does not depend upon carrying Massachusetts. Keep up the good work.
